VIR Road Trip
August 2008
Gene Hunt and I made a long weekend out of the trip down to VIR. Other than a brief stint on 66 and getting in and out of VIR, it was almost all backroads. We were joined by some guests along the way and had good weather the whole time.

Gene and Mario's Monsters loaded up for the weekend.Mike Lehman joined in for a bit on his new Multistrada. This is a stop in EdinburgLunch break on Saturday just over the WVA border.Stop at a waterfall. I can't remember the name of it but I think it was on rt. 220.Preferred parking for the Monsters at VIR. Donnie and company from DucPond let us park the bikes next to their tent. Thanks Guys!Ducati was doing Hypermotard Demos at the event.
Plenty of bikes to check out in the parking lot.It has a trellis frame but it has too many wheels....The Superstock guys going into the graviity cavity.Lap 1, turn 3 of the Supersport race.Lap 1 of the Superbike race. Suzukis out front...what a surprise!The Rookies Cupproduced the tightest race of the day.
Chuck and Kevin joined in for the ride home on Monday.A brief stop at Crabtree Falls before climbing the mountain to the Blue Ridge Parkway.Lunch Break. The group broke up after lunch with Gene and Kevin continuing to explore backroads while Chuck and Mario made their way home.The download from my GPS of the route we took.
